Welcome to our new website. Although we are on Meetup, Facebook, and Blogspot, we felt that a website would be a better way to expand our activities and create a platform for our writers. We plan to keep our Facebook page but will phase out our presence on Blogspot and Meetup. This may take some time because Google recognizes those two accounts but does not yet recognize our website.

Our website is intended to accomplish two goals. First, we wanted our members to connect and share with each other. The Members page lets members set up their profiles. The Forum page lets members post comments and find out the time and date of the next Zoom meeting. If you go to Contact on the Home page, you will find an email and telephone number that will let you reach Charen DeKoven, our organizer.

The Read Our Work page is a work in progress. The plan is to provide our members with an opportunity to post some short pieces of writing for both members and non-members to read. This could be something you are working on or an excerpt from a published piece along with a link to the published work for purchase. In addition, we want to find a way for members to post the items they plan to read at the next Zoom meeting. That way, we could review them ahead of time and be better prepared to offer comments.

Our other goal is to provide interesting and informative posts that would be of interest to both members and non-members. Our members are a diverse group, and we encourage all of them to post material for the blog. The page on Contests will post opportunities to submit your work for competitive contests and hopefully will be updated once a month. We thought it would be fun to include an Interview page with interviews of local people who are involved with writing, publishing, and selling books and stories. This will include local writers and bookstore owners, as well as any celebrities we can convince to talk with us. In addition, since we are so close to Visani Comedy Theater, it would be fun to interview some comedians and their approach to writing their routines.

The website is not in final form yet. We expect to tweak it from time to time, but we think it is off to a good start. Feel free to look around and let us know what you think.
